Educational Residences
The principle of an educational residence is to transform a junior high school into a rehearsal hall for programs for concerts, CDs or operas and to open up and discuss these work sessions.
Each junior high school welcomes Les Talens Lyriques at least once a year for rehearsals and carries out a partnership over the course of the whole school year with the Ensemble, featuring teaching workshops and creative projects led by musicians.
The pupils can thus discover the daily work of the musicians and share time with them, allowing them to overcome prejudices and to change their attitudes to Classical music.
Les Talens Lyriques rehearsed many programs in junior high schools (an opera of Monteverdi, a CD program with Véronique Gens for Virgin Classics, an oratorio of Haydn, etc.) including its anniversary program "Farinelli" with Ann Hallenberg in 2011, given in prestigious concert halls such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Cité de la Musique, the Royal Opera of Versailles.
In 2011/2012, Les Talens Lyriques offered 4 educational residences in 4 establishments of the City of Paris:
- Hercule mourant by Dauvergne in November 2011 at the Mayer junior high school (18th);
- a "Rameau Project" in conjunction with Platée (February 2012) and Les Indes Galantes (May 2012) at the Varèse junior high school (19th);
- The Saint Matthew Passion by Bach in March/April 2012 at the Modigliani junior high school (15th);
- "Only Mozart" in May 2012 at the Gambetta junior high school (20th).
